Silverlink Software has agreed to a collaboration with ADI Health, in a bid to manage the growing backlog of elective care appointments across the NHS due to the COVID–19 pandemic.

Under the new agreement, ADI Health’s solution, MyPathway Waiting List Management, will integrate with Silverlink’s PAS, PCS, to enhance the functionality of the remote clinical app and improve patient engagement for trusts.

Healthcare providers across the UK and Ireland use MyPathway to revalidate and reprioritise elective waiting lists, including discharging patients remotely where it’s clinically appropriate. With the new PCS integration, MyPathway will be able to directly access and use the PAS data, enabling clinical elective leads to also use the app to:

  • validate clinical calls with patients
  • send out appointment reminders
  • support patient-initiated follow-ups
  • coordinate shared decision making between patient and clinician, for example recording digital consent before a procedure

John Eaglesham, Chief Executive, ADI Health, said: “During the pandemic, the issue of elective care waiting lists has come to the fore, with hospitals across the country postponing treatments in order to accommodate the influx of patients presenting with COVID–19.

“From helping trusts to prioritise and manage their appointment lists, to empowering patients to take greater control of their own care from home, we believe the joint collaboration can help the NHS recover from a situation in which nearly a quarter of a million people have been waiting more than a year for operations and other hospital procedures.”

Tim Quainton, Managing Director, Silverlink Software, said: “To deliver ‘whole system’ thinking across the care pathway, we recognise the need to work with other innovative suppliers. The collaboration with ADI Health is particularly exciting, as it helps us collectively offer trusts an integrated solution that can combat the pressing issue of ever-increasing waiting lists.

“This will be fundamental in the recovery process from COVID–19, and we are looking forward to seeing the positive impact of the relationship.”

Throughout 2021, ADI Health and Silverlink will be engaging with NHS trusts to explore the possibility of deployments in a bid to help them manage their patient backlog.
