MyPathway delivers urgent Coronavirus Support

Patients at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust with rheumatological diseases who are taking medication to treat their condition which suppresses the immune system have been sent an advice document from the Trust digitally via MyPathway.

The document contains information on the measures all patients should take to protect themselves from the virus and lists the medications which potentially make a patient more at risk.  All patients were advised to continue with their normal medications because the health risk associated with a flare of their disease is likely to be greater than the risks associated with COVID-19.

Direct URL links to relevant advice being provided by Public Health England and the British Society of Rheumatology were included in the digital communication enabling  patients to immediately access recommended and regularly updated guidance relating to their condition.
